Do I want to race?

Will stock 6.1s have any reason at all to race?

If the 6.1 class is going to be full of cars with heads and cams and even strokers will there be any chance of competeing?

In Time Trials you are trying to see how quick your car will run. Time Trials are all done with both cars leaving the starting line at the same time and the faster car gets to the finish line first. NOW on Bracket Racing the slower car takes off first and then the quicker car takes off last and trys to catch the first one WITHOUT breaking out.

For Example you dial in at 13.00, you take off and 1.20 seconds later the other car takes off, he has to catch you, and beat you to the finish without red lighting, or going quicker than his dial in of 11.80.

So YES you want to race.......I will even be giving a Class and a Demonstration on Saturday Morning. Here is a link from NHRA:

If you need me to go more into detail PM me your phone number and I will call.

Chuck
We would like to start getting a head-count to see who is interested. PM or post if you plan to hang out or think you might like to run the strip.

Anthony

Exclamation Is it June yet?

Anybody out there that is lurking or still on the fence about whether or not to make the trip to Columbus, don't hesitate and make plans NOW to be here. You don't want to be one of those people sitting at home watching video and viewing pictures from the event saying, "I could have gone, or I wish I had gone."

As it stands today we will have LX and Jeep SRT owners in attendance from 26 States, Washington DC, and Canada; Many of the top aftermarket vendors either in attendance or involved from your favorite forums as well as some major vendors that are not on the forum; Cliff Gromer from Mopar Action magazine who is a HUGE advocate of the NEW Chrysler Musclecars will be covering the event action from beginning to end. Who knows you could see yourself in an upcoming issue of Mopar Action magazine?

IF YOU DON'T SEE YOUR FAVORITE VENDOR OR FORUM MEMBER ON THE GUEST LIST CALL THEM, E-MAIL THEM, PM THEM AND TELL THEM THEY NEED TO BE IN COLUMBUS ON JUNE 14-15.

There are a lot of "GO-FAST" vendors out there. How cool would it be to see them all run on the drag strip, at the same time, on the same track? I know I would like to see that, how about the rest of you?

Is it June yet?

Anthony

Exclamation Update: Entry Info Released on Post #1

Thank you for everyone's patience as we finalized some MAJOR event details. I am very happy to announce the wait is FINALLY over, and it’s now time to announce the entry fees for the much anticipated LX Event of 2008 - THE LX & BEYOND NATIONALS !!!

$20 Meet & Greet (Saturday Only)

$30 Car Show (Saturday Only)

$50 Drag Race Competition (Covers Both Days)

**Anybody that decides to race on Sunday that has already paid for the M&G or Car Show can do so by paying the additional amount to equal the $50 Drag Race Entry Fee. (i.e. M&G additional $30, Car Show additional $20)

All pre-registered guests will be parked on the in-field side of the track, along with the vendors and car show participants. All spectators of the event will be parked in the grass areas outside the track. Same as last year, we will have some major prizes and giveaways for this year's event from Power Ported Performance/Creative Induction Systems - Billet Technology - Advanced Automotive Concepts - Magnaflow Mufflers - Pedders Suspension just to name a few and ONLY those of you that get pre-registered will be eligible.

Due to the overwhelming number of folks attending this event, Paypal was just not a reasonable way to handle entry fees. Also, because the event will be held at the race track it is necessary for each driver to sign a liability waiver, which is much easier to do in advance versus trying to do it the day of the event. For those reasons, registration will be done via US Mail ONLY. After the deadline passes, entry fees are subject to increase!!!!!!

Many, many more event announcements to come so stay tuned . . . .

Is it June yet?

Anthony

Don't wait until the last minute everyone. This event is gonna be HUGE. I am working with a 3rd hotel to block out some more rooms. It won't take long to fill up the Hilton either.

Lightbulb Re: 2008 Columbus, OH Spring M&G

Why should I pre-register for the event?
  • It shows our sponsors (potential sponsors) the importance for them to attend/support the event.
  • Drag Race participants will be assigned entry numbers based on registration. Lower entry numbers get lane preference.
  • NO Car Show entries at the gate. MUST pre-register to enter.
  • ONLY pre-registered entries will be eligible to win door prizes.
  • Minimize time spent waiting in line to check-in at the event.
  • Gate Fee MAY increase for entries at the gate.
***Deadline to pre-register is April 30, 2008***

Explanation of Gate Fees. (There still seems to be some confusion......)

2-Days
Drag Racing + Car Show + M&G - $50 (Covers Both Days) - Car/Driver
Car Show + M&G - $40 (Covers Both Days) - Car/Driver
Meet & Greet Only - $30 (Covers Both Days) - Car/Driver

1-Day
Drag Race + Car Show + M&G - Saturday Only - $50 - Car/Driver
Car Show + M&G Saturday Only - $30 - Car/Driver
Meet & Greet I - Saturday Only - $20 - Car/Driver
Meet & Greet II - Sunday Only - $10 - Car/Driver

Additional Passengers & General Admission Spectator $10 (Age 16 and older)/Per Day

Re: 2008 Columbus, OH Spring M&G

Probably like many, I wish I knew when my car was coming. I'd book now if I knew. My 300C is gone, only the Hemi Ram currently , and have the first Chally coming to my dealership, but when is the question?
I think it's great you're putting so much in to such an exciting event for the rest of us.
That would be a great road trip (In the right car) from Halifax N.S.
Love to be there !!
