'Americans could save 3.7 billion gallons of gas per year'by "NITRO-NIZING" !!!

Recently, I've been hearing snipits about having Nitrogen injected/inserted or 'put into' a vehicular's tires !!! This at first sounded a bit weird and wondered what "new gimmick" this was about. Just the other night while searching one of the local Dodge dealers in my area, I saw an ad on their website about " Come on in for some Nitro" -'South Oak Dodge is a Nitrogen Dealer' = Nitrogen in Tires : Information about Nitrogen Tire Inflation News, Benefits, Generator Dealers, Location Finder & More
!! I just did a brief research and read about all kinds of benefits, like increased tire wear/better for the environment, better mpgs, less underinflation[ and less chance of blow-outs] due to Nitrogen escaping less than Oxygen from the pores of the rubber tire/sidewall !!! It seems like a good thing, but I just don't know [ enough yet] !!! I started wondering ,' Oh come on now, better for environment ? Heck, trees and plants certainly would/will give off enough oxygen to make up for the amount that is "locked up" in the "zillions" of tires in America [ and elsewhere] ! I have more to read and ascertain before I can pronounce an Independance Day from 'good old clean and pure Oxygen aka Air !!! Here's one site : Tire Stores Invite Customers To Get 'Nitro-Nized' With Nitrogen Tire Inflation

all of that stuff is just a myth. Nitrogen really nets you no benefits. I'll see if i can find the article, but there were scientists and everything that got together and tested nitrogen vs oxygen in a tire. There was no real difference. Also, i think mythbusters did that with a football. Came out that the football traveled further with oxygen inside instead of the nitrogen. It was very close however

Did you read both of those links [above] ? I have not yet, myself ! When I first noticed "Nitro" on the South Oak dodge site, I though it was for Nitrous Oxide ; you know, like for Modded Mopars with N.O. tanks/kits to make a quicker 'get away' !! As for footballs; I can just imagine if Nitrous Oxide was put into them ; the players would be carrying needles so they could "inhale" after making a touchdown...really whoop it out !!! I kind of like doing that with a Helium balloon !!!
