That is if DCX (or the masses for that matter) wants to compete. Hell anybody can start stripping out the back seat etc to reduce weight. People do it all the time to improve race performance. Keep in mind, costs go up to replace parts with lighter weight replacements. Me, I want a nice sound system with soft leather heated seats etc. Sure I want HP and it to be fast. But do I care if it can beat a Boss Mustang on the street. I don't think so. (But it would be nice) What are the chances I will run into one on the street and be at a opportunity that I could actually safely race one. Maybe .05 %? What are the chances I will have the same situation with a regular Mustang, BMW, Mercedes etc. Maybe 90%? (And still win)
I will take my chances that I may lose a race to a Boss while I still have all the creature comforts and the speed to beat most sports cars on the road. If I wanted to give these comforts up, I would have bought a 71 Challenger a year ago.
