Boys and their toys...

When it comes to boys and there toys, a man can never have enough or can he? Their nice to have but with maintenance, a lack of time and even worse...money...are they worth it? Yes money is tight and as this country spirals out of control with health care, insurance, gasoline and even a great paying job and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. With a garage and driveway full of cars, trucks, motorcycles and watercraft...what do you choose to sell to attain the mighty, the awesome and highly styled Dodge Challenger?

On the chop block is a: 73 Olds Cutlass, 84 Chevrolet Caprice, 99 Excelsior Henderson Super-X, 85 Kawasaki Eliminator 900 and a 02 Polaris Virage i.

They say "The one with the most toys when he dies...WINS!"

Re: Boys and there toys...

I have purchased 4 new vehicles in my lifetime. 2 of them, I still own. I think you can figure out what they are. I have also purchased far too many used cars. I currently have 6 vehicles in my possession. I hope that the Challenger will be my next and hopefully not my last hurrah. I have been in debt and had to work all of my life, so why stop now.

Re: Boys and there toys...

Yeah I hear you guys...without going further into debt I figure this is the best way. I'm still up in air about the Cutlass, that will probably be a last minute call or when money talks kind of deal. But there's more in my driveway like my daily driver 91 Buick Lesabre, 98 Chevy 2 door Tahoe, 78 CJ5 and a 98 S10...but I can dispense with some of that when I get the Challenger. I'm trying to break it down to three cars including the Challenger.

It's not just the 'boys' that love their toys... I have 4 to my Hubbeee's 2
...and he already knows the Challenger is next.

If that were my chopping block, I'd put the S10 on it, in place of the Cutlass (esp. if it's the 442), and sell them all.
G'luck... half the fun is the anticipation!

Re: Boys and there toys...

What an incredibly glorious problem to have. Some day I imagine my wife and I will have 3 cars between us... but not for a long time.

As for which to get rid of, that's a highly personal decision. I mean, I can't think of a good reason to keep the Caprice, but then I've never been a big fan. Perhaps you have a personal love or attachment to that vehicle. Since you're obviously a car/toys guy, there's probably a reason you have every one of your vehicles.

Here's how to get rid of up to three (or they're all possibly one in the same, which would make the choice easy): Pick the one you have the least attacment to. The one you have the least fun with. And the one you actually drive/use the least.

Good luck.
