Does anyone REALLY believe that GM would roll out a Camaro concept garnering rave reviews and building a groundswell of support from hundreds of thousands of Camaro faithful and then not build the car? You gotta be kidding.

They'll build it. I don't have any inside information, but I have enough common sense to know they'll build the Camaro.
I agree. I don't think the people at GM are that stupid not to build it.

As far as the UAW goes, GM has to tell them to shove off before there is no GM.

I sure hope they make it through this. When they start building passion back into their cars, sales will definitely improve. Until then, they're headed down.

Your completely backward. If the UAW decides to "shove off" then who will be at GM, more robots. The UAW has made as many concessions as they are gonna make. Yes they got powerful, but together both prospered for many decades. If you want to point fingers , try looking way off the compass to HMO's and the health field all together. It is a shame that $2300 of every car goes to cover these excessive health issues.

Re: Camaro will be a no go.

I really dont care if they build the Camaro or not if it comes in the current style that was shown at NIAS in my opinion the car is butt ugly and i am a current 1969 Camaro SS 350 owner. And yes my next car will be a MOPAR or 2 have a SRT-8 300C on order now in Silver Steel with all options but dvd and when the Challenger comes out make my an Auto with the Biggest motor to be had and fully loaded and in Crazy Orange mettalic with side graphic.

Re: Camaro will be a no go.

Sorry but I don't buy it either. Can you IMAGINE how GM's credibility would be shot to all hell if they tease the Camaro fans with this prototype and NOT build it? Not even GM is that dumb (or desperate). I like the Camaro prototype myself, I've had 9 F bodies (still have a 78 Firebird Formula) and very much hope to see it return. Of course my money is on the Challenger, but I'm also looking forward to having my Challenger, in addition having a new Camaro and Mustang (whatever Ford will have in store for it in 09).

I realize that this rumor could be true, but (no disrespect to the original poster of this post), I'll have to hear it from a more substantial and credible source before I start believing it.

Re: Camaro will be a no go.

GM has a rear wheel car plant in Bowling Green were the make the Vette. They could base it on a scaled down vette platform, so they do have an option. I agree totally on the high medical costs, they have gotten totally out of control, as have legal costs and if we don't watch it and get it under control we'll have goverment controlled health care and I'll start going to the vet. I presently own a Go Man Go Daytona and will be looking very seriously at the new Challenger here in a couple of years, I just hope they build it like the concept I remember how the Charger orginally looked.

Actually... no it isn't. Car mags are often 2-3 months behind on their news - while this rumor might have been true 2-3 months ago, I sincerely doubt it holds any water now. Plus I regularly monitor F-body message boards (camaroz28.com, chirpthird.com) and I'm also a member of the Gulf South Firebird Camaro Club - there has been no mention of anything like this at all anywhere, or anything even resembling as such - you would think news like this would spread like a rash, but there's not so much as a peep. Plus, car mags have definitely been wrong before, I don't consider them the be-all and end-all of automotive news.

Now, I do acknowledge that this rumor could be true... and if it turns out to be I'll be the first to come back and offer you my sincerest apologies. But in the mean time, unless I hear something from Bob Lutz or Scott Settlemire myself, I'm going to dismiss such rumors like this as just that - rumors
