... but seriously, there seems something profane about putting a Nissan engine in a Camaro. Seems too much like the new F&F movie. Regular pushrod V8's work just fine for me.

It'll be interesting to see who is the first to get squeezed out of the new muscle car market. Ford, GM, and DCX are preparing to do battle for our hearts and wallets.
If GM cleans up the camaro (saying this based on the look of the concept) and retools it so it isn't so cartoonish the thing could kick! For the love of God cut the pointy nose loose. And the rest of the body lines are too muted. They need to bring a '69 camaro into the studio during the design phase like DCX did with the '70 Challenger and take some notes. You are right about the engines. I did some research and if they drop the LS7 in their top dog it will definitely give the 392 Hemi a run for its money... if they drop it in a 3500-3600 lb body, well that's just lethal.

I still personally prefer the Challenger body style but a 1969 Camaro with a 396 was the car I drooled over in high school in 1988. That body style is fabulous (I didn't know the Challenger existed until around 1990, and it has since become my all time favorite body style).

Here is hoping GM goes the retro route and sticks MUCH closer to the 1969 body style, like DCX did with their 1970. If they did the car I would pick would honestly be a toss up, and would be decided on the basis of engines, trannies and options available and other less obvious traits (like weight).

Re: Is the Challenger better than the Camaro?

I just recieved some jaw-dropping info about the new Camaro.

Not only will GM style it better and offer more options but the buzz is the plan on putting a LS7 in plus the option for a Supercharged version both well over 500hp..........................................

If GM does that........the willing will come running

I am sure GM will have some surprises but whatever they put in the Camaro it will not beat their flagship Corvette.

Yup. GM won't let any of its products threaten the one market it has locked up. Heck, they even detune identical engines just so the Corvette has more rated power.

BTW, I'd love to have one of the new 'Vettes, but it ain't gonna' happen on this dudes salary.

Kulthu:
I agree, I love the new Corvette Z06. It is basically $90,000 Cdn! and not going to happen.

I am sure the 2010 SRT8 version will have the 6.4L. Unless something drastic happens, I think the whole SRT8 lineup will see an upgrade by then.
