Check out the August issue of Motor Trend

They have a great story and cover shot about the now confirmed Challenger as well as the story behind Vanishing Point. They have Barry Newman aka Kowalski drive it as well and do a nice update on him as well as his thoughts on the movie. They may be making a sequel w/ Sean Penn in the new Chally , cool sh*t huh??

Hey ,thanks for the heads up ! Actually ,I'd like to see Charlie Sheen play Kowalski instead [unless I could somehow ] ! I met Barry Newman in Tucson in 1974 ! He was filming or shooting an episode of 'Petrocelli' a hard hitting lawyer who I believe liked getting the 'Bad Guys' ! I vaguely remember hearing about part of the shoot about a hippie -like preaching ceremony, but now that I think about that I'm thinking it must have been a scene in Vanishing Point, but I thought that movie was made in !985ish. Ah, Maybe the two scenes were just similar, besides that was many ,many ~~~~~~ ago !

I'd also like to see Charlie Sheen or maybe even Nicolas Cage play the part.

Re: Check out the August issue of Motor Trend

The August 2006 issue of Motor Trend is a must buy for the Challenger fan. With about nine pages to drool over including the very last page with a B/W action shot of the Challenger in Trans Am action. Although it obviously went to press before the GO announcement the magazine calls for the car to be built. Barry Newman reflects fondly on the classic E-Body and claims he may buy the new one. One disappointment, DCX goes through the effort of swapping out the 21 inch show wheels and we get very little on how the car actually performs.

I can’t wait for pics and reports from Carlisle on the Challenger making a splash.

Is it not funny that all the magazines trip over them selves praising the new Challenger? When they derided the original so much.
