Considering... (Thread Split)

Considering the royal reception that the Challenger concept got in the USA, Canada and around the globe;

Considering the fact that DCX has the financial means to build such car;

Considering the fact that in the not so distant past we the faithful had to drive some cars that were built exclusively to make money and were far from the MOPAR standings;

Considering the time that DCX had since the conception of the Challenger concept to make its decision regarding the future of the Car;

Considering that DCX OWE US THE CHALLENGER;

I for one think that DCX is now starting to lack respect to all the MOPAR fans and that DCX is not playing fair anymore!

I for one was sure that I would buy a Challenger non withstanding the price or any other factor... BUT from now I am thinking about being a lot more selective and having a serious look at the competition. Is Loyalty to MOPAR the only factor! DCX better listen to what it is said on this platform by all its fans!

I have read all the comments on all the topics! WE want a V6, a HEMI 5.7 or 6.1 AND a HEMI 392 in the SRT8, the whole auto AND 6 speed, in concept form AND as light and as soon as possible! No need to be a genious to catch!

It is time for DCX to show its cards. We are not talking money anymore.We are talking loyalty and respect.

My father during all his life (72 years) has NEVER owned a car or a truck that was not a Chrysle product and I have been a MOPAR fan for all my life (55 years). That is 127 YEARS.

If DCX keeps at it, GM or FORD or another manufacturer will send DCX thank you cards on my behalf regarding my next acquisitions!

DCX better wake up and smell the roses! I am the only one that is starting to feel this way.. or am I too much of a TIGER!!!

Mike the tiger.

Re: SRT Chat Session & Cherokee SRT8 Website

We tend to be the die hards in a sense. There is a lot of interest in this vehicle not just by forum people but a lot of people who just like cars. I am 47 years old and I had a ball when I was young racing a Challenger it was prolly gonna be a lifelong hobby. But things changed , I had to move myself across the country in search of better work etc... The race track was no longer just down the road and my support structure as in my best friends shop, my fathers garage, and other people who were involved and had a lot of fun with me and my car were now 2500 miles away so my interest waned and I eventually sold my challenger and all the parts I had acquired. I eventually settled down to driving things with decent economy getting married blah blah blah. I never quite let the fun leave my driving experience
usually by investing in convertibles that could handle but never did have much horseys under da hood. Now they bring my old car back ...Screaming with horsepower a six speed with all the modern underpinnings in technology.
Do I want it. Heck yea. Am I impatient... why am I drawn back to this forum
like a piece of iron to a magnet. I am chomping at the bit. To my sorrow I know what corporations are like they are slow ponderous beasts that move about as fast as a divided congress does. This car will truly bring fun back into my driving experience and as much I hate to say this we are gonna have to wait. The bean counters and the nay sayers are gonna slow this car down
unless someone at the top of dcx starts the Sh** rolling down hill hard and says make it happen and direly threatens the bean counters and their faithful companions.

Re: Considering... (Thread Split)

I love all cars. I Like my car, I like my buddy's Sentra SE-R, and his SRT-8 300C. I like the E46 M3, the mercedes E55, and the Nissan Skyline. I'd love to own a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and I want a Jeep to f-around in. I'd love to have a Dodge Power Wagon to haul and have fun, and I want a Corvette ZO6.. but not one of those cars has my attention more than the Challenger. ok, well maybe one.. but Chrysler canned that (RIP ME 4 12)

Re: Considering... (Thread Split)

I'm way beyond the "loyalty" stage. I find that automakers are not loyal to us. Why should I be loyal to them.

To that end, I will buy the best product I can find and while I prefer a domestic car, if a Japanese or German product is a lot better, I'll get it. That said, all a domestic has to be is just as good as the import and I'll be glad to pay an extra grand or two for it.

Right now it is a 2-dog show. Just the Challenger and the Camaro for my daily driver. I'm getting a Solstice GXP for weekend work when I can get one. After that, it will be the better product that gets my money.

That said, I like the looks of the Challenger better and if it comes in not too heavy (minor detail) and not too expensive (major detail) then I'll own a Challenger. I would prefer to own the Challenger. It would be my 1st Mopar.

No loyalty here. I expect the best car and right now I expect that to be the LY Challenger.
