due respect to charger owners

all due respect to the new charger, nice try dodge! Hopefully ford has taught the big wigs that retro is here, and muscle needs a look that will make you nervous when you look in the rear view mirror!

You're right about one thing! I've seen many mustangs in my rear view mirror!

Personally I think the front end looks very mean, and yes it does resemble a dodge, but for good reason ... I also like the new mustangs, although I like the charger more, it is just one of those to each his own type of things ...

I really like the look of the new Mustang too. Very retro...pulls at this ol' guys heartstrings. Wasn't for me though due to interior room....I like a lot of it. Yeah, the Charger R/T I have has 4 doors...would have bought it with 2 or 4....wasn't an issue for me. One thing nice about 4 doors..the hinges last longer. Provided of course that you keep the car 'that' long. Now all the references to 'muscle cars' I believe to be more along the lines of powerful V8's with RWD and strong body lines. Heck, back in the 60's muscle car era you could go buy a Plymouth Fury with a 383....we didn't call it a muscle car but it sure the heck was faster than most cars on the road and it was a tank! Rambling here.....Anyway, the Challenger will be a true retro and depending on package will be a muscle car by any interpretation.

I also love the 4 doors, not really an issue when I was looking for cars but after having them, I'm not sure I would want two, I know my friends wouldn't ...

I think the Charger has some 'retro' styling to it, obviously not as much as the mustang or the challenger will be, but there are hints. I've had people say it reminds them of anything from a 69ish camero to a 70 chevelle. Granted not in the same way the mustang looks like the stangs of old, but the front headlights and the kangaroo hips definitely give it a little bit of a retro look.

Re: due respect to charger owners

I think the Charger is a wonderful car, and it fits its market well. I do believe if they release the 2 door Challenger, it will fit nicely in its niche market as well.

All in all, DCX is the only manufacturer who has "figured it out" so far, and it shows in their stock value and their market success.

Did you just see on the news where the S&P dropped GM's rating? They better do some serious upper management firing and get some young blood in there pretty darn fast. If not...can you say 'Welcome to Wally World'?

I really hope they do some shaking up and get back on track. Would be better for all of us.
