Is it modded? If not, I beat my friend's SRT-4 a few times... close though (I own an 06 Mustang GT).

Re: due respect to charger owners

One thing that people fail to "get" is that Dodge built the Charger for TODAY's buyer... not for pure retro appeal. While it does have retro cues (rear quarter panels & interior look), its meant to be different than the original 2 door versions, because the targeted market (family men/women) really do need 4 doors for the kids, dog, etc.

I personally feel that Dodge nailed it. Plus, the darned thing looks evil.

They built the car that they most thought they needed to fill a marketplace niche. The marketing weenies picked the name because it had a high recognition factor in their 'studies'. One had absolutely nothing to do with the other, obviously. Welcome to a lesson in corporate America, Andrew.

Re: due respect to charger owners

It's not like the Charger name is pure by any means. How many times was the Charger name used on a car that looked nothing like the original few generations of the Charger? The current Charger is more "Charger" than anything since the mid seventies by far.

People get too stuck on the number of doors and the "purity" aspects of the name. No matter how you slice it it's an awesome car if you option it right.

Another reason I dont like it, If the cars so great, it should sell regardless of the name.

Okay, explain how a FWD 4-banger is more of a "Charger" than the new ones.
Which was your favorite Charger, the Coronet fastback, rebadged Chrysler Cordoba, Omni fastback, or Magnum sedan?

Re: due respect to charger owners

Back in their day, they were what a sportscar needed to be.

Fast, diecent(sp) handling, light, wont burn a hole in your pocket on gas.

What do we have now.
Sorta fast.
Good handling.
Heavy.
Drinks gas like nobodys buisness.

You see, it is what a good sports/muscle car is in the era it was built.
