Ford video "Bold Moves: GT500 Meet the Press"

Link:

By the way, did anyone see how the GT500 dives when breaking hard ?
Is it only me or there is something not quite right there ? Never seen a car do that, at least not THAT much...

58% of the weight over the nose (not counting driver), and morbidly obese and that's what you get.

Sure looks like it.
It's totally borderline, almost dangerous...it looks like it's about to stand on its front...horrible, horrible.

Yeah and an anchor to throw out to keep the car on the road if someone has to brake that hard in a curve

Re: Ford video "Bold Moves: GT500 Meet the Press"

Look at the Car & Driver test (against the 'vette). The GT500 was hopping and jumping in the curves. A result of the solid axle.
What a lousy car. Surely this can't be the best they could have done.

Yes, I have a 2005 Mustang GT and the rear axle is fairly ok with the 300 hp the GT has, but with a 500 hp vehicle they should have gone IRS...
I know that the drag racing crowd doesn't think so, but not all roads are straight in the real world ...

Good points.

And another is that the IRS would have had anti-lift geometry.... further reducing nose dive.
