Re: GM revives Camaro muscle car
It is an unofficial GM policy that nothing can be faster than the Corvette. Besides that, anything that was as fast or faster than either a Corvette or Viper would be as expensive as they are. If you want something that fast you will have to buy the real thing, but at least if you buy a Vette you do get a gold chain.

Re: GM revives Camaro muscle car (add all Camaro related posts here)
The Camaro being more easily available speaks more for GM's willingness to meet the customer's wants. DCX by limiting the Challenger production if they do that, is telling potential customers to take what we offer or nothing at all. That will turn away a lot of people who maybe don't want that exact car.
I personally like the idea of lots of engines and trim levels because I can get what's right for me. I am not insulted by slower, cheaper versions of the car I drive. If that is what you want and can afford, it's great. I would love to see 150,000 Challengers on the road with everything from a little V6 to a huge Hemi in every trim level. It keeps prices down and aftermarket interest up. |

Heck, during my childhood years, an elderly lady/family friend (Dollie 'Grandma' King) was lovingly referred to as 'Hot Rod Granny' by all that knew her. She drove a 'souped-up' V8/manual transmission 1965 Ford 'Mustang' which she meticulously took care of...man, how I wish that that car was sitting in my driveway today. ![]() |

Nobody knows for sure though. 2nd The Z06 and Viper are not in the same league as the Pony Cars, so why are we comparing them. Even if they put a 500 hp Camaro out, it still would be as fast as a 500 hp Z06, not to mention chevy is planning on making the Stingray which is projected to have 600 hp and 550 lbs tq. |

Camaro is supposed to compete with the mustang mustang weighs around 3500 pounds but the concept weighs close to 4000 pounds according to autoblog on one of their first articles, i doubt yall can shave off 400+ pounds. |
