Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

I was coming into town on main street where I live and was going through an intersection. I was doing about 35mph. A Ford Tempo was in the opposite lane coming towards me. As I went through the intersection he swerves right into the turning lane and turns right in front of me. I slammed into the passenger side of his car, sending him into a 180 spin, also breaking his axle, and ripping ihs right rear wheel clean off the car. Needless to say, the first thing on my mind was my car. I pull into the parking lot at Little Ceasers and hop out to see my car. My right fender is crumpled at the very front, bumper is slightly bent, plastic around grill and headlights is cracked. Hood is fine though. I can't begin to explain how pissed I am at this particular moment. Anyways I hope the other guys insurance pays for the damage to my car. His piece of **** was hauled off on a flatbed And I was able to drive home no problem. Thats what the dumbass gets. I'll post pics of the damage tomorrow hopefully. Here is the car before the accident.

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

Glad to hear you're OK. Sounds like you got off lucky on that one compared to the other guy.

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

Neither of us were injured which was a blessing. If you seen his car you'd think he was seriously hurt. I had on my safety belt and so did he. My car held up well and I hardly felt the impact. So all is good. It could have been much worse. I'm just pissed because I have to get my car repaired. But I guess I can't complain too much, like I said I'm oaky and he is okay.

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

It's good to hear that no one really got hurt. Hopefully, they will be able to replace the parts on your car with new OEM ones.

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

Your poor car looks as sad as you sounded with its headlamp tilted out of whack that way
Hope both you and the other driver are okay, it can take several days before whiplash type injuries are apparent.

Here's to walking away and speedy repairs!

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

I guess it will be extremely hard to get these long gone replacement parts ! Good luck finding them . Might be able to get away with unbending the bumper , but forget about the front nose + fender . Keep us posted how it turns out

Re: Got in a wreck tonight.. :(

The Honda Collision Specialist who looked at it said it was totaled. But he wasn't even with my insurance company he just looked at it because the guy who was supposed to look at my car was busy. Well my car was finally looked at. He did a full inspection on the car. He looked underneath, inside, under the hood, heard the car run. Inspected the frame and everything. He even made a comment about how nice the original paint still looked and that he was impressed with the condition it was in. He told me if he could find the parts to have it repaired that they wouldn't total it. 2 days later he called and said they were going to fix it. Although he did tell me they might have a lot of trouble matching the paint so the whole thing might be repainted but the total cost came to like $1,250 for repair. I only have to pay a $250 deductable. That includes parts, paint, body work and labor. The front of the passenger door is bent. So that is the only part getting body work done. The rest of the damaged parts are being completely replaced. So the car is going to the shop next Monday. It will take about 4 days for the work to get done. And while it is there I plan on having the rear bumper repaired. (The chrome is starting to peel off) Of course I have to pay for that. But when its done it should look like brand new... Now I just need that dual exhaust with the chrome tips put on it... I will post pics of all the progress on the car.
