Guess the Ram SRT-10 is done after this year

I'm sure this is old news on the SRT-10 message board, but I figured I'd say something about it here anyway - it looks like the SRT-10 is done after 06 Not that it's that much of a surprise, especially the way gas prices are these days (yeah for now they're going down, but all an Arab has to do is sneeze in the wrong direction and they'll be back up to $3+ a gallon again) - but I still think it's a shame to see it go. Like James Dean it lived fast and died young.

Here's a salute to THE baddest-ass truck ever made

Re: Guess the Ram SRT-10 is done after this year

I came very very close to buying one but it slipped away. To give you an idea of the monster depreciaion on it, here is this. My local dealer had two 06 SRT-10's on the lot. MSRP w/ all the gas guzzler and the dealer mark up came close to $58K or $60K, somewhere around that figure.

Ok so I see a 05 silver SRT on the PO lot, it was the quad cab which I needed due to it would be the wifes so she needs the extra room for the rugrats and it comes only w/ the auto tranny. It has about 12k miles and in showroom shape. The price was $37K !! Christ almost a 50% depreciation hit in less than a year. Hell I thought the Gallardo losing $30K a year was bad !!

I got the saleshole down to around $35K haha , can you imagine what they gave the guy on a trade in, $30K maybe ??

Anyway I had emergency business and had to leave FL and get back to La Jolla ASAP for a few days. I get back and it was sold I bet I could have got him down another $500 so who the heck would buy the truck new when he could get it for 50% off in less than a year ??

Oh yeah I drove it and it was nothing great, it sounded terrible and was not that fast. Good off the line but on the hwy it was nothing special. Not to mention it was getting according to the window sticker on the new ones, 9 MPG in the city and 13 on the Hwy. So w/us at the wheel knock it down to 6 in the city and 10 on the Hwy. That makes the H2 look enviro-friendly.

That was a pretty good deal on the SRT-10, as I too have been looking...although not that actively. I did see a very nice pre-owned H2 in Newport Beach a few weeks ago...priced in the low 30's, but I just didn't want another black vehicle.

Heh, I almost did not go out to help a buddy with his computer because it was raining on Sunday. Then I think, how silly would it sound if I canceled. Had just washed her Wed.

Need to get another car that is not black myself. But most likely my next car is going to be the Challenger (undecided color) and that is not going out in the rain period!

Rain really isn't a problem here where I live...it's the never-ending dust and sand which are 'the killer'. I can have my two black cars washed/waxed and they'll look great for the first thirty minutes...an hour later they're both covered in dust again.
