hi, i`m new to this site. my father bought a new challenger in 1970. i have been a big mopar fan ever since. i really like it that the car companies are starting to go retro. i am kind of disappointed in the charger. they could have gone another way with that. the challenger concept looks fantastic and i think they should leave it as is. ( lose a little weight, too heavy)

Re: hi
Welcome aboard from one newbie to another
As far as the Challenger going on a "diet" before production, I don't see it happening. Cars are getting much heavier these days what with all the required safety stuff (air bags and such), heavier reinforced frames that all new cars have - hell my 04 GTO weighs about as much as my land yacht 64 Catalina, and the GTO is a much smaller car. I see the production Challenger weighing at least as much as that prototype.
