Well since 250K isn't even close to enough to buy a new Lambo, even if you made it 500K it's not enough, those cars require very frequent, very expensive service..

I'd pay off my house and my car, probably buy a 2013 GT500 and do some things around the house. If I had anything left over, I'd do some more stuff to my truck

I'd retire instantly........ but not here. I'd go hide in an under-developed tropical paradise where I could wait for the end on a beach and stop worrying about gun grabs and mandatory self-driving cars. I already sorta live in a cave since I quit following the news (had something to do with the '08 elections) and I'd miss the Challenger, but not getting milked every which way for a car that I'm unable to really use (insane traffic and speed enforcement in a broke state).

Not a tropical paradise, but you would be considered a millionaire in Cambodia.

Forget paying off the house!!! With 3.1% interest rate right now, that wouldn't be the wisest choice. Invest it for a target of 5% per year which is very conservative. Market has been good this year as a whole. That puts me 5% ahead on $250,000 for a year, for a gain of $12,500. Debt on house is less than half of that (call it $125K anyway)......so interest on that for a year is $3875 @ 3.1%. $12,500 - $3,875 = $8,625 which buys a pretty nice set-up for nitrous and a Super Charger and then I get to do something the next year, and the next, and the next.........

Yes, 'paradise' was too big a word, but that was my drift. Cambodia is kinda hard to emigrate to, but there's Costa Rica, Thailand, etc... $250K tomorrow and I'm a goner.

Well since I've won $50k in 2 months and over $100k in 6 months at the casino and managed to spend every dime of it I would say that I would live normally for a year or so. Money just doesn't go the way it used to.
