Earlier today while watching FNC [ the Fox News Channel ,which is a cable TV station which FOX owns and operates

] and then a clip appears showing a pristine orange and black Plymouth 'CUDA , unless it was a Barracuda . I've seen several segments throughout today. Well, there is an event ,The Muscle Car 1000 'race' [if you will] that is happening as I type : aboard an aircraft carrier ,the USS Midway ! They were showing Challengers, 'CUDAS ,Plymouth Barracudas , 'Stangs [ one which had 700hps] Roadrunners, Cutlass' I think...oh you all know which others. I was hoping the Concept or the 392HEMI Challenger SS would have been there. There also are a few vintage Navy Jets there [ an A6 Intruder for one ,I believe]!!! They showed two vehicles lined up , one Challenger was doing Smokeouts [aka burnouts

] and then racing down the runway of the Naval Carrier's deck

!. I know, I know ..but only for what ? ,, 150 ft !! Y-ahhh, also showed the pristine Muscle cars being hoisted by a crane from the land below and onto the Carrier !! That's about all I know , if the aircraft carrier will sail around the West Coast or just stay put ... oh,,it was real

seeing all those...just wished our " Top Gun " would have showed them who's

including the first-ever exhibition drag runs down the flight deck of the USS Midway in San Diego :
Muscle Car 1000: The Luxury Adventure of a Lifetime
Vintage cars hit the road—and the deck of the USS Midway—on a six-day, 1,000-mile tour de force 10/7 - 10/11
In October 2007, a caravan of 30 vintage American muscle cars and their owners will take part in the third annual Muscle Car 1000. This six-day luxury adventure tour will cover 1,000 miles from San Diego to Beverly Hills, featuring once-in-a-lifetime events including the first-ever exhibition drag runs down the flight deck of the USS Midway in San Diego.
As with the previous Muscle Car 1000 journeys (from Newport to Napa and back in 2005; Santa Barbara to Napa and back in 2006), this year's event is limited to 30 teams of two participants. This intimacy sparks true camaraderie among these classic car collectors. Each team must bring their own Muscle Car, defined as: 1964 1973 American Muscle Cars; 1955-1973 Corvettes; and 1962-1967 Cobras. And while, in their heyday muscle cars were not a symbol of luxe living, the Muscle Car 1000 adds premium living to powerful driving.
This year's Muscle Car 1000 runs from October 7 through October 11. The driving portion of the event traverses some of North America's most scenic routes along the California coast, with an afternoon of wide-open drag racing at California Speedway, driving the muscle cars as they were meant to be driven. Other highlights include:
• Cocktails aboard Lake Arrowhead Queen
• Dining at Spago and famous winemakers
• Closing Gala at Playboy Mansion
The $5,950 fee for this year's event (which has been sold out since January), includes all of the road and track drives, stays at exclusive resorts, gourmet meals and exclusive galas. Half of all proceeds from the Muscle Car 1000 go straight to HeRO (Hunger Relief Organization), whose goal is to end world hunger by the year 2050. As a result, participation in the Muscle Car 1000 has a direct, positive influence on the lives of children around the world.
HeRO (a 501(C)(3) nonprofit charity) opened three children's feeding centers in Honduras in 2006. HeRO added seven more centers this year, as well as a malnutrition recovery center for infants. In 2008, HeRO plans to expand efforts to Kenya. Entrepreneur, car collector and humanist Chris Hoskins founded both HeRO and the Muscle Car 1000 luxury adventure tour.
