New cars SUCK???

New cars have safety, blah blah, computer this, power that, etc etc...

I miss the days when TWO DOOR CARS had REAR WINDOWS that WENT DOWN... WTF has happened to cars lately?? NO CHROME... NO STYLE... BLAND, BORING, ROUND, CAB FORWARD, GENERIC/CHEAP LOOKING... I mean WTF... Come on.... PLASTIC SIDE TRIM? Does that really add STYLE??? Why cant they chrome plate the trim instead of CHEAP LOOKING GRAY ****??? Seriously... I HATE new cars for the most part. I'd rather drive a rusty, beat up, wrecked, multi colored 70 Nova 4 door. Had a 2001 Monte Carlo SS in PERFECT condition. Never got one compliment on that car at all... Had a 68 Impala 4 door hard top. VERY VERY RUSTY. I got compliments almost everyday and people always wanted to buy it.... Go figure.
So whats up with these 'modern American cars'? A full size car is basically non existant anymore. The new Impalas are small compared to the 60's, 70's and 80's. My moms 'MIDSIZE' 77 Monte Carlo is bigger than a new 'FULL SIZE' Cadilllac... So size is different. And almost all American cars don't look American anymore. They look like your average import, but they are built like ****. Power windows quit working. Little piddly **** breaks and messes up... Headliner starts sagging after 3 years. The plastic front bumper breaks in half when you accidently hit a racoon...

Cars built better these days???? HELL NO I say. We are all being brainwashed. My moms ALL ORIGINAL 77 Monte Carlo still has PERFECT interior. No rips, tears, no saggy ass cheap headliner. Power windows STILL WORK, and havn't been replaced or worked on. The 65 Chevelle we used to have had perfect interior as well, other than a stain on the back seat.

Lets start on style... Nobody puts chrome on cars these days. We instead get 'GREY TRIM' ..... Chevy Alavanche??? GREY TRIM??? really??? We pay this much money for a car that looks like it cost maybe $4,000 to build??? WTF. Seriously. And Luxary cars don't look fancy enough to be luxary cars anymore. They might get a chrome door handle and grille... ha... thats luxary. Spend 45k on plastic fantastic just cause its a Caddy with leather, though the outside is just as plain as your average Accord. PATHETIC.

Interior color choices are non existant. We get the usual colors of black ( which ISN'T black at all. Just greay and we call it black ) and maybe tan. What happened to red, blue, green, brown, white, REAL BLACK??? Engine options suck too. Model choices SUCK. Impala is only 4 door now, even the SS. there is no 2 door, no wagon. The new Malibu is a disgrace to the 1965 we owned. Sorry about my rant but I think car companies should try to expand what customers WANT. I will never buy a new car because none of them suit me. They all piss me off. I'll keep my Original 84 LeSabre, that still has a headliner and working power windows and locks...

Re: New cars SUCK???

The new ( and only) way to option new cars is through the after market. Want a different colour interior talk to Katskins. Want an engine option? Talk to Power Ported Performance. I could go on all day, but basicaly if you want anything it's there ... for a price. And no you're not brainwashed, cars are much better today!

Re: New cars SUCK???

They are much better... Thats why when i hit a racoon in my 01 SS the bumper shattered. If I was in my Buick there would be no damage.

Re: New cars SUCK???

I can say a few things better about new cars. Safety equipment, gas mileage, and thats about where it ends for me.

I'll keep this

Re: New cars SUCK???

Never raced it. its got a 307 V8 with 4 barrel carb though. Its not a race car. It has some power but thats not what this car was intended for. Would make a good sleeper though if I modded it.

Re: New cars SUCK???

I do agree with you on many points. I do also miss the qualities of the older American cars but because of all the requirements that the automakers have to meet, they can't really help but make the kind of cars they do. I don't mean the style as much as the fuel mileage, safety standards and so on....
