Smile New member w/ a M3

Hello, I am a long time member of various BMW forums, mostly the M3Forum.com
Over there I am more or less the only one interested well not interested ,but totally fricken obsessed, panting, drooling, wrenching in bed at night over when this new Beast will arrive and be sitting in my garage. It will keeping company w/ my modded M3, Infiniti FX 45, and soon to arrive June 5th Shelby GT500.

I called my local dealer this morning and got a nice bag of smoke then.
I called my local dealer this morning and got a nice bit of information.
"Larry" the sales guy, actually very cool and knowlegable unlike BMW sales people that would not call 911 if you were dying in the showroom, had some good things to say. "Larry" told me that YES the Challenger will be in showrooms in the Spring of 07. It will be on a modded LX Platform that is 3" shorter than the 300, will be packing the 6.1 HEMI w/420 HP and have the 6 speed for sure and possibly as an option the 7A from our friends @ Daimler. He went on to say the 492 Hp motor could be in the mix as well. That would be nice to go up against the lethal Z06 and GT500 (cough cough)

Well I look forward to visiting your forum and cannot wait to learn what I can from you more experienced guys.

Hey you guys have spell check , man that is sweet.

Re: New member w/ a M3

Welcome to the forum. Everybody is excited about the Challenger and the potential that exists with it.

I find a few things you mentioned very interesting from your talk with the salesmen. I usually take what the salesmen know with a grain of salt because usually they know the least out of everybody...lol. First is he said it would be on a modified LX platform. Every indication from insiders to this point has said it will ride on the upcoming LY platform, which could be what he was actually referring to (the LY platform itself is a modified LX platform). Second, is the hp # he gave for what I'm assuming is the 6.4 HEMI 392ci motor. You list 492hp, a number I haven't heard/seen anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me terribly as the crate motor version of the 6.4 HEMI has upwards of 500hp, and to make it street legal could take it down to that number, I'm just curious if it's true. If you get a chance, dig into him to find out where he got his info from. We would all like to know. By the way...very nice cars you have.

Talking Re: New member w/ a M3

Welcome to the forum! It's also nice to hear some good reports on production as everyone here is hoping and wishing for the best, early times. Hopefully correct, or they could move it up to '07 year with spring '06 debut!
Anyway, welcome and share the dreams for an awesome Challenger!
