New Members, New Problems
So my car is due to be built soon. I have been concerned with the number of new posts about serious problems. I seem to notice that most of these new problems are being experienced by new members. One might guess that these new members experience a problem and a search of the web for answers brings them here. Which is great.
There is also an ugly side to the web based communities, people who seek to cause pain or trouble.
I'm ordering my car on Monday, and I've noticed alot of problems on here too, especially with the tremec transmission. I also hear alot of worrying about Chrysler going bankrupt. I will still be ordering mine and I have full confidence in this car and Chrysler. the TR6060 is a very solid tranny and Chrysler has survived through far worse times than this. They have a great overall lineup right now, and I'm very confident that they'll be fine. These forums tend to exaggerate any problems with a car, because very few people post about how great they're car is, just the problems it has.
Had my R/T for almost 2 months. So far no problems to report. Everything has surpassed my expectations. Now if I only had more time and money to play with it
I've had mine since Oct 17. Got almost 5.5k on her so far and the only problem I've had is blowing as much $ as I can to get more goodies for it. If you want this amazing car, I think its like any thing you purchase. From time to time some of the "product" have flaws that need remedy. That's why with the Lifetime Warrenty, you smile and slam the accelerator down and leave your worries where the ruber started! Cheers
i've had mine for 12 days now babied it for 500 miles and put 800 miles on top of that ricky racin and i love it!!! only bad thing to report is it takes a half an hour to fill the tank... cause of the line of people talking to me at the pump, but i get a kick out of it anyway. : )
2500 miles and not an issue and I have one of the first 6 speed srt8's built for 09.I love this car it fits me well.
A majority of complaints seem to be coming from newbies you bet.
I suspect foul play to some degree notice only a few of the die hards here have had issues as so many others have not had a sign of troubles with the tremec etc.
FYI:
There are countless shill accts on this forum which some choose to use to spread so called trouble here and youd be amazed with what we can see.
I do feel some of the complaints are viable and I feel for our members dealing with the issues at hand but I do know the guys from other forums Camaro/Mustang/etc... use many tactics to spread decention thru the ranks of a forum like this so its a crap shoot and your observation is definately noted.
We have been watching accts esspecially newbies for weeks now to preserve this forum as a place we all can enjoy without spoil sports seeking negitive attn.
What would be funny is I should post all the shill accts and who they are attached to via Ip addys.
One would be surprised!

I love my '09 6 speed R/T. 3980 miles in 10 weeks and she runs beautifully. This is the best car I've ever owned. She's fun. She's fast. And she's a looker!!!! Just ask any of the thousands of people who I've seen gawking at her over the past 10 weeks!!!! No complaints here!!! Just joy!!!! Looking forward to running her at the track again in the spring with the new Dynatech Full Length Headers, high-flow catted midpipes and MBRP cat-back.... Should have the Predator and CAI in by then as well....if not the V-3.
Am I obsessed??? NO...JUST FOCUSED ON THE BEST CAR I"VE EVER HAD !!!!!
Well other than a sex-crazed deer that ran into the side of my car while I was FULLY STOPPED there are no problems here on my end.
My car has only 1000 miles on it, and I love it!
I would take the shill account argument VERY seriously. There are a lot of people that are up to no good, and you have read/take everything with a grain of salt.
My impression of the challenger has been that is has great fit and finish, and great performance, and certainly GREAT looks.
Chrysler isn't going to go bankrupt, and Dodge is not going anywhere..
I've had a problem with my 6 speed car and Chrysler brushed it off on the 2nd visit to a dealer. Being a master tech working at a dealer up until recently, I'm sure the problem stemmed from a clutch issue and not a transmission one. I'm still having some shifting issues, but I was told to drive it so I am. I'll take it back in as things gets worse which they will. It's not going to magically heal itself.
It feels like the car is not fully disengaging the clutch unless it's held in for a lot longer than is typically necessary. It drove PERFECTLY for 1600 miles before it had the issue, and I was on a long trip with nearly all highway/freeway driving and VERY little shifting when the initial problem happened.
It still drives great, but the shifting was beautiful and smooth right up until the initial problem pulling away from a stop sign at an offramp. It's never been smooth since and I had come 200 miles with no shifting on the freeway since the last stop. It felt like something stuck in the trans and the clutch not fully disengaging. It made horrible noises for a bit, and then went away (mostly) at the dealer it was towed to when the tech test drove it. Chrysler said to drive it to where I was going and have it looked at there. Then when the tech was done looking at it, they told him to tell me to "review the skip shift feature" and told me to drive it. It was making horrible noises at the first dealership and had nothing to do with the skip shift feature. The clutch didn't release, the blocker ring probably stuck on 2nd gear and it wouldn't go into 2nd and 3rd for about the next 7-8 miles on the odometer.
I'm sure that they will eventually fix something in the clutch/trans. assembly, but the car is only 2 1/2 months old at this point and I'm sure they'll make good on it so I'm driving it for a while.
After reveiwing the issue, I've noted that there have been other members here and on other forums having clutch issues with this particular dual disk clutch. Ford has a TSB out on it requiring the replacement of the clutch, flywheel, input shaft, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears and synchros on the '07-'09 GT500's. They are blaming the clutch for causing the initial issue and it's the same one we are using. The symptoms they note in the TSB sound like exactly what I'm experiencing.
I have no doubt that it will eventually be worked out. Until then, I love the car and no one is getting it away from me! I'll continue to personalize it with an eye towards keeping it for a LONG time. Again, I love this car!
