Oh My God Srt!

So I stopped by the local dealer tonight to see if they had any Challenger news for us. The manager told me he wished they never would have released the photos because he gets 20-30 calls a day about the challenger. The manager proceeds to tell me they have plenty of other cars they could sell me. I have bought 3 cars from the salesman there so the occasional test drive is not a problem. He starts rattling off what he has. Hmmm...Magnum SRT, I have never seen one of those. Salesman goes to look for the keys. 5 minutes later he has this black SRT Magnum sitting out front with a tag on it. Who would have thunk I would be in such luck! OH MY GOD!!!!!
That car is just plain wicked! It is quicker than anything I have ever driven let alone ridden in. I have ridden in a 440 six pack Charger and a LS6 Motion Camaro. This thing was unbelievable! There is no wind up of this engine whatsoever. It is sick, with traction control off it partially spins but mostly hooks up and goes like he*%. Life is good and Mopar rules! You gotta try it! $42,000 with no gas guzzler tax. Must have hemi! I can't imagine what it would be like with a stick! I know what I'm going to do if this Challenger thing falls thru.

I love the Magnum SRT-8, haven't gotten to test drive one yet though.

I've driven the SRT-8 300C many many times, my bestfriend has one.. very quick.. goes like stink. I want to drive the Jeep SRT8 though! I too went to the dealership today, needed plugs for my car and my wife's car. THey have a Charger SRT-8, MagnumSRT-8 and the new Viper SRT-10 Coupe.

Re: Oh My God Srt!

I dunnoo...I think 425 hp with a stick would do me just fine. That 6.1 is very quick. BTW, once again I was impressed with how solid that Magnum felt. Suspension was spot on for me. The only corner I go to stuff it into I had the tail hanging out so I didn't get to see how it handled. I did notice that the engine seemed to wind down before it shifted. I was hoping for a nice firm tire frying shift.
If DC would put a six speed in the Charger they might attract some of us gear heads.

Re: Oh My God Srt!

I can tell you one thing. I couldn't tell it was IRS. Rear end came out just like it should! It was very controllable. Especially considering how much juice it had.
The last real car I had was a 71 Super Bee with a 69 383 magnum, 4 speed with 3.91 gears it was quick but the SRT would toast it. Oh, I forgot the 94 Z28. SRT would toast it to.
