I have heard the best defense in case of a clown like that taking pictures and intimidating, road rage or any type of confrontationwould be to call the police or 911 FIRST and report them as the aggressor. Then if they try something later or attempt to lodge a false complaint against you - you are already on record as the victim not the offender.

How dare you not think he's more important than you.....I hate to drive, nothing but ass holes on the roads that think their getting to the destination 1 minute earlier is worth indangering every one around them.
I see stupid people every day. Turning left from the middle lane. People cutting 3 lanes of traffic to turn right. It's crazy nobody seems to think ahead, there in the right lane and need to turn left or the left land and need to turn right

I agree with what you described and hate driving myself, but the more we think that way the more we are tempted to block others on principle because we are, after all, as important and hurried as they are. That's how one ends up in a ditch or with bullet holes in one's car. Better give an inch here and there to keep things fluid and safe because many drivers are just time-bombs.
When we're all waiting in line, if there's space to the right to go down the lane and I see 'em coming, I move over to the right and block them from going any farther, then just keep moving parallel to the space I vacated and keep the same place in line. Same thing when the freeway is backed up and some ahole moves into the acceleration lane on an on ramp just to move up 20 cars. Sometimes they get really mad. Oh well, I guess I'm stupid and taking my chances but I just can't bend over and take it.
Not in the Purple Beast though, just in my beater.

Theres 2 seasons in Ontario Canada winter and construction
So heres the OPP cure for these jerks on the 400 series hwys
The OPP will hide a stealth Charger pursuit car around a road construction site{trust me you cant see them} the second some self centered jack wad speeds along the shoulder or weaves in & out of traffic there nailed
and if workers are present their toast
this is strongly enforced thursday till sunday in cottage country
With hwy 401 being the busiest hwy in North America we are get are fare share of morons here, best cure let them have their way and just ignore them, why raise your blood presure just to satisfy them its not worth it/lifes too short
I'll throw in and agree also. Not worth the hassle, stress and possible bad outcome.
If someone "really" needs to cut in front of me I let them. I just like to think they are in a hurry to get to a sick loved one or have some other family emergency that is more important that me getting one car length further.
That is a good point. It makes me think of last fall when my husband had major surgery. I had to deal with my inlaws To get the kids dropped off and by the time I was on my way without kids I was in a big rush to get to him, he was in a bad way. I was in light traffic and when we got the turn arrow at a light, when I was 2 car lengths behind a woman I put on my signal to pass moved over and stomped on it. I was in my Equinox, I was only doing 10 to 15 over the speed limit and we ended up getting caught at the next light. I guess she saw that I was in a hurry so she blocked me from passing by sitting next to another slow car doing 5 under the speed limit. We ended up next to each other at the next light, I flipped her off, which is totally out of my character, bitch was so fat she barely fit in her car so I wasn't really worried about her trying to get out and stomp me. I don't even know why she decided to be cruel I was using my turn signals I wasn't driving like I was insane, I was just speeding I guess she saw that and thought she was going to f with me. I was out of my mind scared for my husband and trying to get to the hospital quickly and safely and the last thing I needed was this woman playing games. I know that doesn't have much to do with what happened to the OP, But a good example of why you just never know and should probably just let things roll off your back. Most people that speed like crazy like that never end up getting ahead in traffic anyway and it's a useless exercise.
