Sapphire Energy unveils world’s first renewable gasoline
Company Produces "Green" Crude Oil and Gasoline from Algae. The company has built a revolutionary platform using sunlight, CO2 and microorganisms such as algae to produce renewable, 91 octane gasoline that meets ASTM standards; it is not ethanol and not biodiesel. This is very interesting. The automakers need to get on board with this.

Re: Sapphire Energy unveils world’s first renewable gasoline
Article I read said that it can be sent threw existing pipe line and refined at current refinerys. Also read 1 acre of corn can produce few hundred gallons of ethanol per year. Same acre of algae can produce 100,000 gallons of green crude.

Re: Sapphire Energy unveils world’s first renewable gasoline
"Sapphire Energy wouldn’t cite the price tag for producing a barrel of green crude, but they described the expected cost as competitive with extracting oil from deep-water deposits and oil sands. The company already has produced green versions of jet fuel, diesel and clear, premium-grade gasoline, they said."

Re: Sapphire Energy unveils world’s first renewable gasoline
Quoted by Sapphire Energy, “Imagine if even a portion of the $200 billion we spend on foreign crude stayed here: The payoff in new jobs, and domestic economic growth would be huge.” At least we could reduce the money we send to the Arabs. awh, poor Arabs.
