Re: Show Us Your Pets!

Really cool stuff. I've only had one friend who kept a Tarantula. Never got the nerve to handle it.
It true about kids and pets though, I got my first bulldog ( a rescue) from my Dad when I was 4-5 years old and since then they're all I want! I had a Champ breeder (who never met a leg he didn't like) when I meet my Wife. We got married and Snortin' Norton got sent to live my Dad. I finally convinced her to get a bulldog when our boys got about 5 years old. Now she trolls You Tube looking at Bulldog Videos. Haha!

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

I love dogs. Wish I wasn't allergic. I can play with them outside all day long. But get me in a confined area where there's a dog or cat and I'm in agony in ten minutes or less.
I had a Shephard-Husky mix (again bought for the kids) that I kept in a heated coop/doghouse during the first marriage. She was great with the kids, and a good watch dog. I don't have the room in the developement we live in now for a dog like I did then. That house was on 22 acres and she'd run it all every chance she got.

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

Very unique Tarantulas - 8 to 10 ozs. that is a lot of spider!

When I used to live in San Francisco, I used to see a lot of snake fanciers out at various street fairs - admired them, but at a distance.

Scorpions - those just creep me out.

I used to find them around the house at friends that live in the mountains (they are seeking water). The Academy of Sciences in SF had live scorpions on display...

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

My dog actually sleeps with his head on a pillow and covered with a blanket. I had to pull the blanket off of him to take his picture.

He is actually yawning right here.

And all dogs have to stretch when they first get up.

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

I like that breed. Canary Dog, correct? Australian police dogs.
Fearless yet loyal to their master and family.
A friend who owns a gun shop (sold me my pistols) has a female. She had to have surgery before her first birthday - hip displascia. They get big so fast. She loves McDonalds french fries. Give her an order and you have a friend for life.

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

Believe it or not, this is a mix between a pit bull and a dalmation. He does sleep in the bed with us somehow. I used to have a 160# bullmastiff but he was struck by a car not too long ago at my uncles house. He dies instantly, but the cars front end was destroyed. They asked me to pay for it and I told them if they didnt leave, there would be more damage done to the car.

Re: Show Us Your Pets!

Sorry to hear about the Mastiff. They're great dogs too.
I like mixed breeds. You usually get the best of both worlds with a much better temperament when you get a "mutt" or unreckognized breed.

I think dogs are the best pets. They can do just about anything any other pet can do.
I'd be proud to have any of the dogs pictured on this thread.
