Thanks guys! It's rough! My Dutch was so much more than "a dog" and it leaves a big open hole when they are gone. The only thing I can say, as with anything, spend time with them now, love them now, make memories that will last.
I think I am going to hold off for a while. I've already been looking for top tier AKC Breeders in my state and have located a very reputable breeder of show Dobies.
My problem is that I live alone and I work all kinds of whacky hours so at this point it's going to be hard to raise a pup.
They have a guy near me that has the warlock breed of dobie. These are the real German red dogs. I know it's hard getting a pup it is a full time job for 14 months.
Our Yellow Lab, Casey. He is currently 11 years old and has bad arthritis in both hips. This pic was taken a few years ago when he was feeling goofy.....

My newest UKC/ABKC American bully Buffy slayer and her wrestling. Slayer weighs 88 lbs at 12 months and Buffy weighs 57 lbs at 8 months. I love these guys
