That Shelby will be a fat pig in anything but a straight line and it will be much more expensive probably. The real Challenger competition will be the Boss Mustang if it is produced. It will be a better balanced road car and much more similar to the 6.1 Challenger.

Come-on dcx, give us a car too remember!!...But overall I think this publicity is a good thing, and DCX should Read it and learn!!!

I agree 100% with Vanishing Point!..I must..according to what they are saying on the Stang forum: "VP is the only one who knows what he's talking about". I think a lot of people on this forum have shown knowledge...including VP. They are starting to shiver on the other forum! DCX WILL MAKE THEM SHAKE...! and it's from FEAR OF THE 6.4 HEMI IN A BETTER HANDLING CAR! DCX... you better step up to the plate! It's PONY CAR WAR and you must supply BIG ammunition against the competition..unless you want the FORD flag on the hill top!

Re: Someone is watching us !!! ;) :P

I'm almost sure that dodge will put the 6.4 in the challenger. when i bought my 426 hemi coronet back in 1966, I had the same concern. Then there it comes, a 426 hemi option to compete with the 427 chevys & 427 fords. Dodge like's to keep us thinking, and yes the good old dodge boys are reading our post. This is how it will end up. 5.7 R/T stanard 6.1 R/T option and the top of the line 6.4 srt

Re: Someone is watching us !!! ;) :P

#1: the GT500 is a hot car.

#2: its limited production, the dealer markup will be astronomical, and 99% of the people in a given GT500-related forum will NEVER own one because of its "limited-production-dealer-mark-up-cost-availability-ratio".

#3: my second statement makes their cheering and jeering pointless... kind of like me yapping about how the 'new Ferrari' will whoop car "X"... its all fantasy, because I'll never own a Ferrari.

#4: despite #2 & #3, DCX shouldn't allow the GT500 (or future Camaro/TA) to overshadow the anticipated Challenger. Its dang near blasphemy to do so.

#5: its also BS that Ford will place limited production status on the GT500. They're effectively taking the average guy's supercar (the American Muscle Car) and turning it into a near-exotic because of #2.

#6: Overall, while the new muscle car generation is EXCITING, its none-the-less a disappointment at the same time... because of #2-5
