Re: Suggestion for DCX: dealer markup crackdown

Exactly. I'm hoping this thread will be pinned to a few strategic walls in DCX corporate when they plan their rollout and distribution strategy. If you really think about it with 1000 members on challengertalk.com, these discussions could influence a nominal 30 million dollars (approx 30k+ per challenger x 1000 registered users) worth of sales. Not exactly something to sniffle at. And of course membership will only climb as the months go by.

I might find the thread and bump it on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to keep the topic fresh and give new members something to consider since we'll all be facing it eventually.

Re: Suggestion for DCX: dealer markup crackdown

I guess I can't really see 'eye-to-eye' with this thread, my buddy paid Cost + his own stupid options on the 300SRT, and my dealer, where I bought my cars, is selling their SRTs at Cost + what ever options. no markups.. they just got an SRT-8 charger, and sold it for $40k out the door. Nav, kicker, etc. As soon as I hear from my dealer that Challenger ordering is open, I'm going to be handing him part of my spleen if I have to.

Re: Suggestion for DCX: dealer markup crackdown

When I went looking for my '05 Mustang last year, I ran into a lot of dealers who refused to markup and had never practiced it. Of course, the problem with that was they were constantly out of inventory on the models I was looking for. So unless I was willing to wait several months and perhaps even another model year, I had to go to the guys who did markup because they had the car on the lot. So I agree 100% about giving the fair dealers the bulk of the inventory and punishing the ones who gouge by allotting them very little to deal with.

Re: Suggestion for DCX: dealer markup crackdown

I veiw dealer markups the same way I veiw Wal-Mart markups..........GARBAGE

However one can wait for the sales to go down. Many will lease the Challenger SRT8 and in about 7 months they will be sitting right back on the lots with good markdowns.

Dont get me wrong one can get a great deal on that route. But for me 0% APR is a good deal at any price
