Re: US AUTO SALES - June 2006

It appears that the Dodge 'Magnum' remains on a steady decline. This will probably justify the Brampton position with regard to the new 'Challenger'.

Re: US AUTO SALES - June 2006

I bet the Challenger usurps the Magnum completely by the time 2008 rolls around. The 30k production number couldn't hold (could it?) if the Magnum gets scaled back or cancelled outright for lack of sales.

Re: US AUTO SALES - June 2006

The 300 overflow will be shipped to St.Louis plant. I would expect the Magnum not appearing after 2008.

Re: US AUTO SALES - June 2006

Steve,

Would you have a comparison between how many Mustang V6 and the GT?

Thanks

Will

Does anybody have any ideas if this is a sign that they plan on producing more than just a limited number, or is this just a cookie-cutter response? To me it seems that if they had planned on a limited-production vehicle, the response may have read "...The 2008 Dodge Challenger will be available on a limited basis..." or something like that. Or I could just be on glue, and am trying to read WAY too much into this...
First off, I hope you're not on glue, any type ,as this 'may /is' not the best choice [ although I cannot speak from personal experience ] ! Next, production estimates begin at 30,000 minimum ! Now,using " HemiDakota's " [ thread - U.S. Auto Sales for 2006 ;as of June ] data in a sketchy way in which more than 30,000 Hummers have been sold + nearly 60,000 Dodge chargers have been sold : leads me to wonder that 30,000 Challengers could easily be sold and most likely at least 60,000 ! Finally , I believe this response [ which has been repeated for several ?'s ] is what I'd term a prelim aka not yet really decided upon as it is just TOO SOON after initial official DCX announcement of Production Challengers being a reality ! I suspect DCX is still sorting out details and /or waiting to hear back from their various suppliers of parts and engineering of specific parts and /or tweaking the design from Concept to actual Production model !
