Good thread Litos,...gives some the opportunity to chat about a universal interest that takes people away from the daily troubles of today's world.Without music and other art forms existence on this planet would be sterile.Thankfully, music and art is an innate feature within humans that allows us to use it as one avenue of expression.
I am a musician and write, record, produce and engineer music for myself and others in my home studio. There is no greater high for me than the process of creating music. It's even more gratifying if that piece of music touches someone in a manner that ignites positive change.
I am open minded an will give any genre of music a listen to at least once,...which was the case with 'Gangster Rap',...just can't seem to get anything positive out of it,...there's enough violent expression in the world today IMO.
Also, you are spot on about enjoying the good times with family & friends as they will not last forever.
Anyways,lately I have been revisting some of the classic 60's/70's bands,...Allman Brothers Band,Kansas,Gordon Lightfoot,Journey,Neil Young,The Band,The Who,America etc..
Here's some classic Kansas, with Steve Morse now of Deep Purple on lead guitar.Go figure,...musicians that can write great songs, play their instruments extremely well and sing ,...WTHOUT
