Win a 2008 Challenger R/T

So it looks like AskDrZ is giving away a 2008 Challenger if you go to your local Dodge dealership and get a code. What I also found interesting, however, is that on the sweepstakes page (http://www.dodge.com/challengersweep...kes/index.html) below Dr. Z's mug and the pic of the Chally on the left, at the bottom it says "Win a Dodge Challenger R/T" - So does this mean that the R/T designation will be an official trim line?

Looks like it.

Also, if you check this article:
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/08/...iced-at-30000/

it seems that Dodge is saying that the approx. value of a Challenger R/T (with the 6.1L 425hp) is $30,000.
If they really price a Challenger R/T with the 6.1L at 30k, I bet they'll sell them like hot cakes. I mean, for 30k nowadays you get a loaded Mustang GT with its 4.6L 300 hp V8...This would be 6.1L and 425 hp for the same price !

Well, let's hope it's what's gonna happen...

Yeahhhaaaaahh !!! It would make perfect sense to me as a grand tribute to the history of the Challenger to offer the initial model as the all-new retro-like 2008 Dodge Challenger R/T equipped with the 6.1 L 425 hp !!!

Don't forget to add the $3,000 gas guzzler tax. A regular Charger SRT-8 is $35,000, plus the gas guzzler tax.

I just tried to build one at the Chevy website and indeed it seems that it doesn't have a gas guzzler tax.

The Z06 is rated at 26 MPG on the freeway and the regular Corvette is rated at 28 MPG freeway. They don't have to pay a gas guzzler tax.

Maybe the 6 speed in the challenger will help us beat the gas tax..

Re: Win a 2008 Challenger R/T

I stopped by the dealer last night and picked up my codes and discussed the Challenger. They are pretty clueless about the car. (We know more from the boards) I did get my name on a unofficial list (at least for now) for the Challenger.

Now my wife is looking at a Jeep Commanche. Wonder how much that is going to cut into the Challenger fund!
