Despite not having the 5.7L R/T or larger, the fact still remains that it's a great daily driving car that retains all of the styling of the more expensive models and turns quite a few heads in the process. Personally, I still think you would really enjoy the SE if you gave it a shot and there are many SE owner's like myself out there (more than we both know probably) that don't partake in the forums and aren't into insane modding; they just take it for what it is...a beautiful car. I urge you to give the SE a serious look. Thanks.
Dodge did a stellar job with the design and ever since I laid eyes on it back in 2008, I knew I had to have it, despite it being an SE, R/T, or SRT-8. I think
alot of SE owners would agree with me on most of what was just said, but of course we've all seen the individuals or groups who are so rooted in modding everything they own that the new SE is no exception and it can get a little out of hand, but again…to each his own. For me, I simply put a couple old school Challenger Script emblems on the front fenders to wrap-up the retro styling that I'm into and added the chrome fuel door as the cherry on top and it's a wrap. I want everything else to remain stock...simple and affordable was the goal and that's exactly what it is.
Hey there, a new SE owner here. Just wanted to throw-in a couple words regarding your earlier post, nothing negative here, just food for thought if you are considering purchasing a Challenger...of any type.
First off, I'm with you 100% on the SE being all of the things you listed, slow, quiet, and generally unimpressive, mechanically speaking, and if I was able to afford the R/T, it would be sitting in my garage
as we speak. That being said, after test driving the SE and understanding that the car would NEVER be an admirable 1/4 mile track vehicle based on its small six, personally, I was absolutely fine with that;
never was my intention to begin with. Now, what I can say is this...the car did impress me in several different areas; comfort, clean and smooth handling, and a little pep when you want it, but perhaps most
importantly, it's a gorgeous piece of Americana.
