I'm still moving forward, albeit slowly, on my own "Dog Dish" wheel project, and have a question:
In your "Underway" thread, you made the following comment:
"The spacers are necessary due to the large Brembo brakes. The problem is the wheel CENTERS need to stick outward from the hub more. Fortunately, even with the centers pushed outward by 30 mm, there is STILL enough room to add an inch of lip on the outside."
The underlined portion is what I'm curious about. You had these AWD steel wheels widened to 9 inches for the front wheels. Did you also make any modifications to the face of the wheels, or was that achieved by the specified 6.75" backspace measurement. I'm focused in particular on your reference to "add(ing) an inch of lip on the outside" portion of your comment above.
Any detail you can shed on this "one inch outer lip" factor would be appreciated.
