They are functional....

...in that cooling air comes in. But they are not very effective. They look cool and "shake." They are an expensive way to get ....maybe 1 HP.

I'd keep it the way it is if it were me and be happy about it. Great conversation piece and a super rare documented car, plus a few more mph in each gear, less rpm at 70 and can hit 60 in 2nd gear...

I got shocked for the first 6 months of owning my challenger, I rubbed dryer sheets all over the seats and then stuck one where the top and bottom of the seat meets and I haven't been shocked since.

Yes Al, the Hurst shifter assembly has a provision to bolt on the factory stick. That was my first upgrade along with the skip shift eliminater.
