AT is faster and less effort than a 6 sp but does not get better mileage, especially on the freeway. You just have to manage the 6 speed in city driving. I have a 6 sp R/T and it turns about 1650 rpm...

19 ish in a 50% highway/city situation, 26-27 @ 70MPH on level freeway. I have no 100% city experience and I use cruise control and 6th gear anytime I can.
