I'm not an engineer but, there were LED replacement lamps that had built in resistors, they could go bad, but, both at the same time, unlikely. Check the wiring, you might find some resistors already...

I'm just curious, if the 90mm works why change to the 80mm?

However, the blow-by gases contain oil vapor, and when the vapor inters the air filter box it will leave condensed oil on the filter....
