music format

If these Challengers were real muscle cars they'd have 8-track players.

I realize that these probably show my age but whatever. I don't care.

I honestly didn't think anyone knew about "As the Rush Comes".. I dunno how many times I played that while burning down the freeway..

Cruisin, not speedin...

CCR - Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, Fortunate Son
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper
Styx - Renegade
Kansas - Carry on My Wayward Son

Speed?
Jason Aldean - My Kinda Party
Mostly the intro part.. Lyrics: I got the cover off the '68... Fire it up and let those horses sing.. a little pretty thing...

I know it isn't a 68, and he's referencing an entirely different car. Buuuut... I'm still dropping down to 3rd or 4th (depending on available freeway) and flooring it!

Most speeding is done to get away from traffic, although it can be influenced by older Metallica, Metal, and non-pop feel-good 90's - mostly rock/metal.

When I'm tooling around and want to crank a song that *sounds* the way that I think my car *looks*, I play Show Me How to Live by Audioslave. :-)

I'm into rock from the 70s through current, plus big on 80s "new wave" and alternative through today.

But... For some reason, every time I get into my Challenger, I want late 70s to 80s rock. Van Halen (not Van Hagar), Bon Jovi, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Boston, even Def Leopard.

i think it is something about the retro-ness of these cars and reliving my youth - I was in high school and college during those years.

Whatever... It just feels great with the window open and Beautiful Girls or Living on a Prayer blasting.

My wife says "grow up...and why do you have to rev your engine before turning it off each time?" My reply is "Never, and because I love the sound of the exhaust and it's the last thing I want to remember when I get out of my car."

Putting it in Sport and cranking up The Cult - Fire Woman and Sammy Hagar - Can't drive 55, I know I'm going to do some spirited driving.

Man you guys make me feel SOOOOOOOOOOOO young. I read each post and only ONE (jaychicago75) posted a like minded song. You would all have a heart attack riding with me. Here are some examples, and yes, I do jump from bluegrass to metal fairly often:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1hHsTYdXxY - Periphery
