If you don't live here, it's acceptable Everyone here just calls it The City. "I'm going into The City Friday"

Well since I don't live there he said it's OK. Would be cool if calling the city Frisco was acceptable...because if I moved there I would call myself a Frisky.

You could call it Frisco, however, all the people who live there will judge you and assume you drive a Camaro.

That brings me back.

In my years in Sacramento, prior to moving to SF always looked at getting the Sunday edition [Chronicle / Examiner combined only for Sunday] - so much material to get through and reading Caen's columns, and the "Pink Pages"

Moved to SF after Loma Prieta and the Bay Bridge reopening, and continued the ritual of going out to get the Sunday paper. Caen retired and reprints of his column over the decades he worked continued, until his passing.

>I miss that era. Pre dot-com (v 1.0), cell phones. It was a whole different experience before all the changes that began to change things - some for the better, many not for the better...

Nonetheless, nearly two decades' worth of life there, always will remember that

The Pink Section was where they announced the new concerts! We'd get the paper Saturday late, or early Sunday and be in line for tickets as soon as they went on sale. And boy were there some great concerts!

Never had anyone call my Challengers a "Chally", but many people have called it a Charger, a few have called it a Barracuda, and a couple have even called it a Camaro.
Then there are the two old guys who had the right car, but thought it was a restored old one. That second old guy seemed totally bewildered by everything I told him.

"It was new 7 years ago!"
"It's got a 5.7 liter, or 345 cubic inch V8!"
"I'm about to buy another one with 485 HP!"

I think he looked so sad because "Maw" wouldn't let him buy one. Grow a pair, come on!!

King, my "Dog of a lifetime" 12/23/1998-12/13/2012, Super smart, super stubborn, and, as a couple of dog trainers said, "King is an Evil Genius", "He has zero tolerance for idiots, human or dog!". Stupid people were ignored.
