Worst wrecked Hellcat rebuild

Hi Guys

Anyone seen this guy rebuilding the worst wrecked Hellcat of all time? Would have though it would be cheaper just to buy a whole one.

Regards

Dereck

This guy has to have his head examined. He keeps describing the damages to the Hellcat as "not too bad."

Also, he stated that he only learned auto mechanics 7 years' ago.

I think that he just wants to make money from You Tube subscribers.

He might be better off buying a wrecked Hellcat, in better condition, from Cleveland Power and Performance.

I ran a body shop for 25 years during which time I rebuilt several salvage vehicles. None were damaged anywhere near as badly as the Hellcat this guy is attempting to repair. It appears the drive train may be salvageable but little else. Maybe 1 quarter panel, 1 door shell, the platform and some brake components.

This guy has personality some automotive knowledge, talent and tons of energy but I'm wondering about his economic aptitude. Maybe he's banking on profits from Youtube. In any case I wish him luck and will be following to see how he pulls this repair off.

These cars are extensively weld bonded (a joint is glued, then resistance spot welded through the wet glue). That fire destroyed all of the glue bond throughout the car.

The heat from the fire also destroyed all of the high strength and above advanced steel.

The body of that car is garbage.

If he is successful in "restoring" this car, I wouldn't want to be the guy to buy it.

I have another project car for him. I think that he can get it cheap. It will, however, need super low profile tires to eliminate any fender rubbing.

I think he is nuts. Take the motor (which is good as you can see in latest video) and whatever drive line pieces and junk the rest. But if you look at the 2nd I think video the car was a special order. He puts the Vin # there so you can look it up. It quotes the motor at 1200 np but personally I don't see it at all as there is nothing special on the motor.

The only money that guy will ever make on that car will come from his YouTube hits. I quit watching that one. There are some guys making some pretty decent money producing car videos. GoonSquad still has most of the cars they repaired. Who can afford to do that if the goal was to fix and flip for profit. They sell lots of gear and get money from YouTube. Nothing against those guys since I like to watch their stuff but I will not waste any more time clicking on a lost cause wreck so the guy can make money producing dream videos.

In this video, he is working on the engine.
