I don't know if there's "real" money involved. I'm guessing working at Wendy's probably pays more when you factor in real time spent.

What I find funny is how they said "it's a lot of work" to work on a video, when you factoring in editing, etc, etc. I'm sure that takes a lot of time, (or not.)

But at the end of the day, that's not "real work." They get paid, so stop complaining about how much work goes into a video. They are not filming Empire Strikes Back.

About a year or so back I came upon a guy (posts under RP Productions) who had just bought a Hellcat, after owning a Scat Pack I think, and posted videos about the Hellcat. The videos were pretty good when he focused on the car and helped me decide I wanted a Hellcat. I don't recall the number of subscribers he had -- I was not a subscriber. In one video he addressed how much he made from this videos. It came to around $700 a month which made the car payment. At some point he got rid of the Hellcat and got another car -- it was not a brand of car I cared about and I don't even remember the brand now -- and I stopped watching his videos.

I just watched the video again and he didn't come right out and say what me makes day in/day out. He said in one case he "lost" $5K in flipping around an 8 month old car for a new (and different make/model) car and he made around $5K in that 8 months from his Youtube videos.

In other part of the video he said in 3 days after he released a video of his review of another car -- and I can't remember which car he reviewed (I should have written this down) -- he said he made $750 in 3 days. He indicates that's not a steady stream but some kind of a spurt.

Here's a link to the video:

I currently have about 12K subscribers and average anywhere from 60-80k views a month. To date I've made

$7625.75 from my channel. Now there's been at least two Ad-Pocalypses that have screwed us all over. I was

at one point pulling in $200-$300 a month. After the first Ad-Pocalypse that dropped to about $200 every two
months. Everyone lost money over that crap.

There are a few auto channels I follow where I know they're earning 20-40 Grand a MONTH. They have either

close to or over a million subscribers and average 100K views per video per month and upload at least one video
per week. Most of them also hawk Merch and also make an assload from that.

My channel is pretty boring and uninspiring and I haven't done much of anything at all lately. If you want to check
it out it's Brett DiMichele Studios but be warned.... It will likely bore you to tears

Better than a kick in the face w/a golf shoe...anyway, maybe a bit off topic for this forum, but what was adpocalypse? Bunch of advertisers bail for some reason?

Yep it all started with manufactured outrage over a tasteless joke that PewDiePie (Biggest Youtuber) made.

He was actually making a legitimate point but it was kind of done tastelessly, let's just say it involved hiring

Somalian Refugees off the site Fiver for a few dollars and having them hold up signs with sayings about Hitler. His
point was that the site Fiver was being abused and people who needed money were using the site to earn

money doing basically anything and that those people could be abused because of it.

Well, a writer at The Wall Street Journal decided to go for PewDiePie's throat and it got ugly quick. PewDiePie
lost a big contract with Walt Disney over it and the WSJ Reporter wouldn't stop. He personally contacted all of
the BIG advertisers on YouTube like Coke, Pepsi etc etc and showed them the video referenced above and overnight
all of those companies canceled all ads with YouTube. It cost YouTube Billions in ad revenue and cost all of the

content creators ad revenue as well.

Ah I see *sigh*

Well, to maintain forum decorum (and prevent myself from ranting & raving about this and then likely suffering a rage-induced stroke) let's just say that, I too, more often am outraged about the outrage than the reason for the outrage
