I was thinking the same thing. If you have to turn up your radio to cover the hemi tick, it's not the hemi tick.

Took it to an SRT tech to have it looked at because I couldn't imagine it was normal. He drove it for 15 miles and also compared it to the equivalent car on the lot and came back to me saying it's a normal tick and the other car sounds the same. I can only assume the dealership doesn't think FCA will cover the warranty work being that they make most of their money through services. I may try another dealership, but I took it to the top rated dealer (according to customer satisfaction) in my state so I'm unsure of my next move. I changed the oil at 1K with Mobile 1 and the noise actually got louder. It's the only thing keeping me from loving this vehicle.

I would ask to drive the car he compared it to. In the end u r the one that should be satisfied that there isn't a problem.

At the time my schedule didn't permit driving theirs, but the thought crossed my mind. I agree that I should be satisfied, but don't know if I can force them to open her up, and not sure I want them half-heartedly doing so. Don't want to be responsible for the bill assuming (from their feedback) that they don't find anything.

There may not be anything wrong at all. How loud the tick is differs by perspective. I would at least want to hear it on another car or 2 before I dismissed it. I know I thought there might be something wrong with mine until I heard so many others description of the same thing. Then when I got my 15 and it sounded exactly the same I was satisfied and don't even hear it anymore.

I thought the 2015 specified a special Penzoil Ultra synthetic oil? Could the use of Mobile 1 be an issue?

Penzoil Ultra Synthetic is the factory fill and Dodge says to use any 0W-40 synthetic that meets their spec MS-12633. Mobil 1 although being good oil, currently does not meet that spec so I wouldn't be using it on that engine.

You get 4 free oil changes, and the dealer uses the pennzoil ultra platinum. Why spend the extra money on your own oil anyway?

Who gives you the 4 free oil changes? That's the first time I've heard of that.

At first I thought it was the dealer, but then when I was asking them about which oil they use, they told me that chrysler pays them $65 for the oil change on the srt so it gets the pennzoil ultra platinum. The guy said chrysler pays them $30 for cars that don't require synthetic. So, fca gives you the oil change, it seems.

Maybe it is something that is available to the dealer, but they aren't required to offer it?
