I don't get why the 3.9 getreg is that much? The ZF 3.9 LSD with "anti-spin" is 5038703AJ is just over $700 shipped.

ya i dont get it for such a noisy fragile diff $1400 is a little stiff. Still better than the $2600 quote to rebuild by a local trans shop

Not worth to rebuild it at that price. BTW the service manual says to replace the diff mounting bolts, so make sure you buy a set. Wouldn't hurt to get the axle seal protectors as well.

I think this is the one for getrags...not 100% sure.

Well it turns out that my passenger side driveshaft just came out of the differential because it’s bend on one side, I push it in and car runs good again, I’m still going to replace it with a new (used one) for $150 new axle is about 500, I found a Used differential for about 400, if there is a local lkq/keystone automotive in your city I believe they can ship it there for free, but give them a call for more info if you’re interested *1 (800) 525-3667‬

I suppose that with the Getrag 226 no longer in production, there isn't as much demand for the things.
- although, IMO any of these used beyond commuter car use will get replaced over the lifetime of the vehicle.

There's a reason why FCA switched vendors. I'd suspect there were a number of warranty claims since the power train warranty was LT (original owner) on '09s and 6yrs / 100k on '10 - '14s that would have been built with it...

I wonder if welding the ring gear to the carrier is that much of a cost benefit? Funny thing is that out of all the ZF diffs, the 3.9 is the cheapest.

its like the paradox of the Getrag 226MM

the 3.73 Getrag (M6 + 18" wheel R/T) was more expensive than the 3.91 version or the 3.06.

granted that in later years, the 20" wheels were standard vs. being optional as was in '09 - '11/'12.
-so in later years any M6 was equipped with the 3.91 Getrag.

And ~ 60% of SRTs were A5 so those were 3.06.

okay so now we know if the car won't move... The driveshaft spins with no definitive noise it leads to the axle being unseated.

How in the hell did it get bent? Do you happen to have a pic or able to take one? No pressure to do it, just very curious as to what you are seeing.

I bought the car crashed from the front and back, I’m guessing they broke some parts from the suspension when they got hit and the axle bend on the side to the wheel bearing where the boot has the clamp, one side is pushed in and the other one is normal, I don't have pictures at the moment. I got the car driving my guess is that the people before me replaced only some parts to make it run.
