Wow! That's a great price from a dealer, excellent choice. 250-300 is what most shops

Wrong. Slow down and re-read the posts.

At least some (and likely all) of the 2011 392 IE A5 models which were shipped to Canada were equipped with the 3.91 diff.

Only 392 IE models were shipped to Canada. What fraction of those were A5s I don't know. But one of them absolutely, positively shipped with the 3.91 diff. The window sticker, the highway RPM reading and the video of the car on the lift showing revolutions of the wheel-to-driveshaft prove the car has the 3.91 diff. The owner claims he can't keep the tires under it on launch and I believe it.

The chances of this car being a one-off are practically zero. It is highly likely ALL 392 IE A5 models shipped to Canada had the 3.91 diff installed. This makes them highly collectible IMO - far more than a normal domestic IE. SRT likely pulled this stunt because cars shipped to Canada don't affect CAFE or MPG ratings for that model. They didn't talk about it because imagine the outcry from domestic 392 A5 owners.

All CT members at the time who followed that thread and saw the evidence were satisfied the car was the real deal. So instead of calling BS on everyone else, the burden is on you to disprove what we already know to be true. Find a 392 IE A5 that was shipped to Canada and check it for yourself. One test drive checking the highway RPM in 5th or 3 minutes on a lift will answer your question.

I will have the service dept run the vin and verify this. I can not see them
making a special group of 3:91 geared auto's just for Canada.

Just search for it. This has already been proven. I was one of the most skeptical, but there was proof.

Back on topic.... I will be anxious to see the quarte mile difference it makes for the 392 Challenger. If significant, I will make the change myself. Keep us informed pleae!

I remember the thread Heminator is referring to, back in the spring of 2011 a Canadian member of this forum posted a thread saying he bought a IE auto (A5) that indicated on the window sticker that it had 3.92's installed. Even though his RPM at cruising speed was significantly higher than other members who had 392 A5's, there were plenty of naysayers out there. He ended up posting a video of his car on a lift, marking the driveshaft and turning the rear wheel and unless this guy was pulling some kind of bait and switch, this car indeed had a 3.92 gear installed.
