Running around in the Hellcat today. Traffic is light so I could focus a bit on the engine/car telemetry.
Ambient temperature was 62F. Drove the car earlier today so the car wasn't dead cold. Drove in town some couple or 3 miles. Stopped to eat lunch. Afterwards drove a mile or so to downtown and filled up the Hellcat's fuel tank. Drove home and found I had left my phone at the restaurant. Drove back maybe 2 miles to the restaurant and picked up the phone. On the way home again I noticed transmission temperature up to 206F. Part of the time the transmission was in auto mode, other times I had the transmission in manual shift mode. I wasn't doing any real spirited driving. Just steady driving at anywhere from 25mph to 40mph -- whatever the limit was posted on the streets I drove on -- with an occasional red light or stop sign.
With the transmission temperature at 206F decided to get on the freeway to see what the transmission temperature did. After around 4 miles at 65mph the transmission temperature had dropped to 194F. Oil temperature had dropped from 210F to 192F. Coolant temperature had dropped from 210F to 199F.
