Loud "Bang"

Okay, Yesterday I was going to pick my wife up in my 2015 R/T Plus. She was dropping her Charger off for an oil change. Well I was pulling away from a stop sigh and I heard a loud "Bang" and could feel the
"hit" in my right arm that was resting on the console. I continued on my way, flipping through all the gauges to make sure everything was working okay. I got to the garage where the wife had he Charger, I popped the hood, the belt was okay, looked under the car, nothing leaking, on the way home I "punched" it nothing unusual. When I got home (a 5 minute drive) popped the hood, looked under it, everything, could not find anything wrong. Drove through the intersection several times looking for rocks, broken parts, and nothing on the road there. Anyone experience this? Though maybe the carrier bearing or something of that nature.

It actually sounded like a quarter stick of dynamite, the old M100s we use to get in the 80's before they banned them.

Had something similar happen to my Trans Am, it was the transmission mount between the tranny and center crossmember.

either some debris kicked up and hit the floor pan or the cross member or the studs that stick down.
after the impact, it could have rolled off to the side of the road

otherwise, maybe a bolt on the trans mount snapped?

only other thing I can think of (rare) is if the cast alloy cross member cracked / fractured?

about all I can think of is lifting and inspecting under carriage to see what might have happened

Hi Frank Jullian

What about the possibility of a broken road spring? Had one break on my old Town Car once and that was a pretty loud bang when it went

Regards

Dereck

I had an eerily similar experience in my Charger recently. It was so loud that I was sure I ran over something, but there was nothing in the road to run over. I never did find the cause or effect of the noise. Don't forget to update this thread if you find anything out on yours, maybe that'll point me toward what happened in mine.
