Hey everyone, I have a 2010 5.7 v8 challenger rt manual. I’m experiencing a strange noise when I idle or come to a stop. Anyone know what this noise might be or be able to relate? Thanks

Might be water pump (impeller is hitting housing).

If you suspect the water pump impeller is able to contact the engine block that's not good. There will be metal debris -- probably small particles -- in the cooling system. They'll probably not be large enough to block coolant flow but if they remain they can damage the new pump's seals and lead to an early failure of the new water pump.
If there is any block wear this can open up the clearance between the new impeller and the block and reduce the efficiency of the water pump.
Best stop running the engine and get the car towed to a dealer and have the noise id'd and addressed.
The impeller is plastic and just polishes where it hit metal (usually the pump housing). Not enough plastic removed from the impeller to cause any blockages.
Thank you for the reply I'm taking it to the dealership Monday morning which is about 20 miles away.one thing I'm going to be sure they do is replace the engine coolant with new instead of using the old.
