I have a regular 2010 Challenger V6 and The battery is dead in the car and due to the car key isn't the same as the door lock key, so I can't open the doors. Is there any way I can open the hood to charge the battery enough so that I cab use the key fob to open the doors? The person I bought the car from before somehow had the door locks, or the ignition changed (can't remember what the story exactly was) and the keyfob key doesn't match the lock cylinder for some reason. I left the car for a while and now the battery is dead so I can't use the fob to open the doors. Is there any way I can somehow either open the hood from the outside to add a battery charger before I call a tow truck to unlock my car doors...
Welcome to Challengertalk Assuming what you are saying is the hidden key in the fob isn't correct for your car?? If dead battery and no/wrong physical door key, no, no way to get in. I guarantee any good locksmith can get you in though. You'll have to pay their fee of course. The battery is in the trunk, although there are jumper points under the hood. Don't accidentally lock the doors again after!
After you pay the piper to gain access and charge your battery you might want to replace the door key cylinder to match. Won't be cheap but you won't need a locksmith again. That really is a bummer.
I'd think they can cut you a key for existing door lock? Not sure how they go about that, but ask the good locksmith while he's jimmying your door lock
Wonder if you could remove the front plastic skid and reach the hood latch somehow. 1st you would need to be able to get under the car. Just a thought, what do you think A Guy?
It's within the realm of possibility, I'll say that. But I think I'd pay the...$50-$75 for the locksmith, then have them change the lock, or make a key

Good point about having them make a key while on site getting the door open. In my case living 10 miles from a town I'd try getting to the hood latch. Wonder if my key works in my door I did buy mine new but guess I should check my key for piece of mind.
I bought a Mercury once that came without a trunk key. Took the locksmith a key blank, rat tail file and ten minutes to make a key and cost me $75. He did it sitting on the curb, so no need to tow it to his shop.
Lift the car slightly, crawl underneath and connect your battery charger to the starter cable and engine block, this will not only charge the battery but also allow you to open the doors using the key fob
Dereck, I am gonna try that tomorrow. Thanks for that hint. I will let you know! I believe that the door lock may have been replaced due to a previous break in attempt that screwed the door lock mech. The key is still the same one that is used to start the car.
Yeah the fob did not have the metal key in it because i lost my keys and i had a new fob programed so I did this to give power to the car and open right up with the fob
