69 Charger Taillights look

Well, I have never been a big fan of the 08-14 taillights, I do like the 15+, but wanted to see what I could do with low budget ($5, lol).

Seeing @btimothy4 's all red taillights, that sparked an idea, so an E-Bay order from China, and a trip to Walmart later, I have myself the red vinyl, and plastidip.

First I took the Dodge letters off with a hairdryer, then cleaned up the area and cleaned the indents where the letters sit; then put on a layer of vinyl over the reverse light, but the crappy China vinyl was not red enough for me, so did 2 layers. Then for inspiration, went to my favorite car of all time, 69 Charger. A few measurements later, I was taping up the back for plastidip. It came out fairly well, however I did mess up one measurement, but still looks good. The 69 Charger R/Ts have the R/T badge between the taillights, so I was thinking of doing something similar, so I printed off an SRT logo, traced it onto some aluminum, and bam, I have myself an SRT badge. Stuck that in the middle, and I have to say, I am pretty happy with the results, especially for spending like, 5 dollars, haha.

Let me know what you all think,

Looks good. I have a similar overlay that is now hard to find. I opted for putting Dodge back in the middle like the 13’ cars came. Click image for larger version

Very unique, but can you see your reverse light? I wonder if it is illegal to cover it up or change the color from white to red?

The reverse light is still visible on the sides, and I could not find any laws around here about colour, so for now I'll roll with it, and @Newoldchallenger I've seen those, but disliked how wide the center was, with mine I made it to 69 spec, haha

Nice, I can see this to inspire others to do something similar. That unique look is always cool when one play by "the rules" and not stick altezza lights on a Challenger.
