Planned Site Downtime For Software Upgrade - 2 October, 2014

There will be a planned site downtime to facilitate a software upgrade scheduled for tomorrow, 2 October, 2014 between 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM EST.

This upgrade will feature the following enhancements:

- The site should be significently faster
- Mobile frendly - for smart phone browsers (no Blackberry or Windows)
- A new paint job with the home page being "bright, crispy & clean"
- Garages will be featured on the site
- Social Media Connect - "Users will be able to register with Facebook, Twitter or Google+ meaning faster legitimate registrations"

AutoGuide will be starting a feedback thread after this is implemented to tweak and iron out any bugs.

Bernie

There is already a mobile version of the site available for Android and Apple. It needs work with a menu button though IMO. Just use your device's browser and it should default to the mobile site. For comparision try the chargerforums.com mobile view to see how much easier it is to navigate with the Menu button. I've asked AutoGuide to address this, but haven't heard anything yet.

Is it going to look like the Charger forums? I like the active topics page, but once you go into a forum area, It's spaced a bit much with the 2 lines per thread listing.

Charger was changed a little today by taking out all the mentions, likes and similar stats. These can be found on the member's profile now. It does cut down drastically on the vertical length.

Early suggestion. Bump up the size of the "new post icon" for mobile users using desktop site.

Thanks,

I will be online to work on any bugs and report any hot fixes with the team tomorrow.

If you see any issue with the new version you are able to revert back to the Legacy version or give the team some time to fix it for ya.

See you guys tomorrow,
Jeff
