New Hellcat's stolen from FCA

Someone broke into FCAs shipping yard and stole three Hellcat's and a Grand Cherokee. I would be livid if this would have happened to my car.

So what I want to know is......

Are these cars stored here with the keyfobs in them or are the crooks hacking the cars with their own devices?

If it's the former....and they've been stolen three times, with the keys left in them....well shame on FCA and way-to-go for the crooks, exploiting stupid people. If it's the latter, then everybody should be concerned about the vulnerability of our wireless fobs.

Wait, what are Hellcats doing at that factory. I thought the Challengers were assembled at the Brampton plant.

Maybe cars destined for local Detroit dealerships?

While I do not have solid answers for the above questions I can speculate that the keys are indeed left in the cars. I can not imagine having to try and sort out thousands of keys a day to find the right one for the right car.

All Challengers are built in Brampton, I would these cars had arrived in Detroit by rail waiting to be taken by truck to the dealers. A "sorting facility" so to speak.

Or a prep area for employee executive cars and yes, keys are in cup holder upon shipment from Brampton.

Could you imagine waiting months for your new car only to be told it was stolen and they have to build you a new one!

That is what happened. In my case, after my 2009 SRT was built, in Brampton, it was moved to a "holding area" in Detroit for shipment by truck. It sat there for 10 days until my dealer, Bob Frederick, pulled some strings to get it priority shipped to his dealership.

By the way, hasn't FCA heard about security guards and dogs? Much cheaper than losing 19 vehicles worth over $1.2 million.

I'm back to the "leaving the keys in the car" thing. So, first, that's a really dumb idea. No reason the keys can't be stored in a box/envelope separate from the cars. Bar-coding is a powerful tool.

But even if they did leave the keys in the car. Thieves broke in and stole a bunch of cars with the keys in them.

Then did it again.

Then did it again.

After the first time, they didn't take the keys out of the car?
After the second time they didn't take the keys out of the car?

So now after the third time, will they take the keys out of the car?

I'm smelling an inside job here. This is just too stupid to make sense.
