New Hellcat

2016 HC Mango Orange/Black Interior 6 Speed.
The car had 157 miles on it.
The only option was Red Seat Belts

I bought the car from Eastern TN Dodge in Crossville TN.
They had a customer who bought 10 HCs and never used them. He sold 5 back to the dealership.
All 5 sold pretty fast. When I pick up my car the only one left was a Plumb Crazy Purple model. It was also sold just not picked up.

It was a nice 600 mile drive back to Tampa.
I sold my 17 SP to buy this car and so far I am pretty happy with the decision.
I am looking forward to learning more about the car.

Would you care to add some info on what kind of deal you got on it?
The story makes it seem that you might have saved big bucks but you didn't mention it.

Just curious.

I know my car runs 10's because I once beat a guy who said his car runs 11's.

Love my 2016 REDLINE RED CAT too.
I bought mine as a new left over, I bought the car in 2017.
The car listed at $ 71000.00 but sold for $ 64000.00.
I am the original owner.
I also have the Red belts and A8 trans.

Congrats on getting your new Hellcat.

Just a heads up. The car is going on 2 years old. While it has no miles to speak of -- well, except the miles you've put on the car -- Dodge calls for the oil to be changed every 6 months.

My advice is you change or have changed the oil/filter sooner rather than later. Even though I bought a new 2018 Hellcat I had the oil changed at around 500 miles then again at 2000 miles.

My local dealer discounted the nearly $10/quart Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 Full Synthetic by around $4/quart and likewise knocked a few bucks off the oil filter price. The 1st oil change was under $90 the 2nd a bit less than that as the cashier applied a discount coupon to the Helcat's oil/filter service.

Sure
I paid 53K plus FL tax. Dealer was asking 57K. I offered 53K they came back at 54K. I said no.
They called me back the next day and said they would take 53K if I would put a deposit down.
I think I did OK, but not great.
I also got 6 oil changes/tire rotations.
The in service date was 12/16 so I do still have a good piece of the warranty left.

I have been looking hard for over a month, prices are all over the board.
Here is what I saw.

There are still new 16's and 17's out there. They are priced at 58K to 59K and most dealers are not budging much. I called several.

I ran into 2 types of private sellers.
Guys who had their cars over priced and out of touch of reality with real world pricing and most likely paid too much to begin with. These cars were in the low 60's

Example: there was a car local to me in Tampa. 2016, 700 miles, Black, Guy was asking 59K.
I asked him what would buy the car today. He would not go under 57K. Not a bad price, but I knew there were better deals out there.
Another good buy I saw was a 16 with 500 miles, loaded 6 speed, black hood, sun roof. That car could have been bought for 54K. It was in NY. I just really did not like the color red. I think that was one of the better deals out there.

I also saw plenty under 50K, some down to 45K. These cars had some miles on them. Usually 10,000 or more or they were less desirable colors.

My concerns were how the car was treated prior to my ownership.
There are a lot of cars that have been wrecked out there. (Car Fax was a good guide but we know not always accurate) Low mile cars with new tires or replaced clutch's was a red flag to me.

This is just what I have seen and my experience in the market in the last couple months.
Keep in mind this is for a manual car, that's what I wanted.

Also I was originally going to buy a 2015 but found there was no real difference in pricing on a 16, 2017's are more.

Congrats on the Hellcat! Sounds like you did your homework and got a great deal. Not a bad color choice either
If you want an extended factory warranty Luke from Steve White's is your guy.
